How can I start using FACTO to issue invoices in Chile?

To start using FACTO for invoicing, the first thing you must do is register your company at Facto.cl, where you will need to upload the digital certificate of the company's legal representative so that FACTO can connect to the S.I.I. (Chile's tax authority) using this digital certificate.

How do I sign up for FACTO invoicing in Chile?

  1. Go to https://facto.cl/registrarse/
  2. In the country selection, click on Chile.
  3. Select the sign-up method (you can use your Google account or your email address).
  4. Enter your registration and contact details:
    • First and last name.
    • Company email address (it must be an accessible email address, it cannot be a fictitious one).
    • Contact phone number.
    • Password you will use to log in to FACTO; we recommend an alphanumeric and secure password so you can protect your FACTO account.
  5. Accept the Terms of use.
  6. Click the "Continuar" button and then click the "Aceptar" button to move on to the next step.
  7. Select the product you will use; for invoicing, select Facturación.
  8. Enter the company's RUT (tax ID) and legal name (Razón Social).
  9. If you have the digital certificate of the company's legal representative, click the SI tengo certificado digital button to attach the file and its password.
  10. Click the Enviar button, then click the Aceptar button in the pop-up window that appears to complete your company's registration in FACTO.
  11. If you do not have the digital certificate of the company's legal representative, click the NO tengo certificado digital button to choose the option of buying a digital certificate from us:
    • Select the duration of the digital certificate.
    • Click Enviar to proceed with the payment of the digital certificate.
    • After purchasing the digital certificate, you will receive an email with a link where you must go to download the digital certificate.
    • After downloading the digital certificate, go back to the FACTO registration and upload it to complete the account creation.

Frequently asked questions

  • What format must the digital certificate be in? → It must be in .pfx format.
  • In whose name must the digital certificate be issued? → It must be issued in the name of the company's legal representative.
  • What is the digital certificate's password? → It is a key created at the moment the digital certificate is generated. Once created, it cannot be changed.
